About the National Training Centre
Women’s Aid National Training Centre offers a suite of qualifications, leading to a National Diploma that sit on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). The QCF is the national credit transfer system for education qualifications in England, Northern Ireland and Wales.
The QCF is a national framework referenced to the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), so that qualifications in national frameworks such as the QCF are understood across member states.
We also offer CPD/Facilitators training as well as bespoke training that can be tailored to your individual or organisational needs.
Whether you work with survivors, deliver a service, or are an employer wanting to support your staff, our unrivaled expertise will equip you with the tools to understand and respond effectively to domestic violence.
Our training encompasses all the skills and knowledge required to carry out many of the specialist roles required within our sector for example Outreach, Refuge, Group Facilitation, Working with Children and the IDVA role, for which the National Certificate has been endorsed by the Home Office as suitable for this role. Free Power to Change training- Bristol 14th & 15th February 2017
We have 12 free places on our 2 day Power to Change training taking place in Bristol in February- the places are being kindly funded by Alexander McQueen.
This course will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to set up and run support groups for survivors of domestic and sexual violence/abuse using the Power to Change manual.
What you will learn:
- About survivors needs in view of effective group work
- Familiarise yourself with the main principles of developing and running a successful survivors support group
- Familiarise yourself with the contents of the Power to Change manual
- Practice group facilitation skills whilst working with the programme material
- Participants will be given the facilitators handbook to take away on the day
The training is aimed at Professionals working within the sector with a good understanding of domestic abuse and experience of facilitating group work with women.
These places will be offered on a first come first serve basis and are only open to Full Women's Aid members. Please note that only 1 free place per organisation can be offered.
